LED Advantages
LEDs are widely known for their long life and energy savings when compared to traditional lighting sources. In fact, they can use up to 75% Less energy than other light sources to produce a comparable amount of light. They accomplish this savings by turning nearly all the electricity used into light output. They produce no UV radiation and very little heat which also helps to prolong fixture and component life, and makes them ideal for illuminating objects that would be harmed by UV light. They are rugged and can last up to 80,000 Hours or more, which translates directly into lower maintenance and service costs. Because of their projected life span, they are ideal for use in hard-to-reach locations.
In addition to their low energy consumption, the LEDs themselves contain no mercury, so they are more environmentally safe than are traditional HID and fluorescent lamps.
